Mohammad Zakaria Haider has completed his Bachelor of Science in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in March, 2016. At present he is working as a Partnership Development Manager in Grameenphone Ltd. , the leading telecom operator in Bangladesh . His field of research includes robotics , embedded system design , IoT and signal processing .
He is highly involved in developing robotics and automation systems. Some of the major projects are -cost effective braille embosser for visually impaired people , intelligent robots to assist rescuer during the accidental occurrences like earthquakes and structural collapses, robotic system for physically disable people , underground landmine detecting UAV , UGV etc. He was one of the gold medalists in 4th IEEE RAS International Robot PRIDE Competition-2015. He has received prestigious Joy Bangla Youth Award from honorable ICT advisor of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh ,Mr. Sajeeb Wazed Joy . He was a part of Bangladesh Youth Delegation Team to India, 2016 on an special invitation from the former President of India , Sri Pranab Kumar Mukherjee. His team became 2nd Runner Up at Humanitarian Robotics and Automation Technology Challenge-2016, Stockholm , Sweden.
Apart from his regular job at Grameenphone , Zakaria is a proactive volunteer in IEEE . He served as the Secretary of IEEE Bangladesh Section for 2018 . Prior to that he was an executive committee member of IEEE Bangladesh Section and lead the Humanitarian Activities Committee of the section as Chair . He was appointed as the publicity chair of 5th Region 10 IEEE Humanitarian Technology Conference- 2017 . He has served as a global student committee member of Robotics and Automation Society – Special Interest Group on Humanitarian Technology (RAS-SIGHT) from 2016-2017. He has been selected as RAS-SIGHT Committee member in 2018. He is also the founding member of IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) -Bangladesh Chapter .
